Description:
The project encompassed a new international airport terminal, Terminal 2. The new 20-gate expansion terminal to the south included with a new head house and required airside and landside support areas. The new South Terminal included the terminal building, an access road, parking, a domestic terminal, and a new 230-foot high air traffic control tower. The terminal building had 20 boarding gates including access to wide-body commercial aircrafts. Following the completion of the new South Terminal, Tocumen would have an approximate departures area of 148,000 m2, 54 fixed boarding gates, and apron dedicated area for aircraft remote positions. In addition, the Terminal offered all the amenities required for comfort in an international hub including commercial spaces, airlines clubs, and entertainment in a safe, resilient environment.
